I did a book-give away on FaceBook with my Author Page. I wanted to get to 500 “Likes” and started posting on my regular FB & Author FB pages.
I also entered my book into a contest and promoted the contest and my book by holding an event on FB. I was contacted by a local TV station because one of the anchors saw my event. I got to go on the Morning Show and promote literacy and my books. DOUBLE WIN!

Hi Shutta! Thanks for this. I heard Katie speak a little with Susan Raab and others at the LA SCBWI conference in August. At the time, my book had just been acquired and I knew NOTHING about promotion — so all the info was a lot to take in and a bit overwhelming, especially the QR codes! I kept her card advertising her book, but forgot about it. Thanks for reminding me I wanted to get her book
